A room with a view

At the top of a 15 storey building at the very edge of Madrid, sits a room with a view. Overlooking Casa de Campo and wrapped around the río Manzanares and Parque del Oeste, the building stands tall from its low-density neighbours of Colonia Manzanares, providing a fantastic vantage point for the room with a view.

The project needs very little to be successful. A muted palette of materials avoids distractions from the views in the living room; la Casa de Campo as far as the eye can see.

The apartment, built in 1961, needed a comprehensive redesign of its layout to bring it to modern standards of living. The living room and kitchen are joined, which opens the possibility for a large double bedroom with en-suite, as well as a secondary bedroom and office.
