Tom's cloister

(Designed in collaboration with Ara González).

Tom had a set of stones rescued from an old church, and wanted a design to exhibit them as part of a water feature.

The idea was to further abstract them from their significance, in opposition to reconstructing them into their original form. They should stand as individual objects, and exhibited as such. Arranged into parallel planes, and floating in space thanks to a thin steel substructure, the elements float around each other as the visitor moves around. In between them, narrow planes of water reflect the objects, duplicating the effect.
